Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad August

So before we knew that this
was caused by this

,
we thought it was caused by this

.
So when this

kept popping up, we called in the professionals to get rid of said bugs.  Mr. Exterminator (the terminator as I like to call him) was just positive (on the phone) that we had them.  Afterall, we had been to Europe this summer where they're apparently taking over!!!  So, after not finding any signs of said bugs, he laid some sticky traps down around our entire bedroom to try to catch them in the act.  Peter and I immediately moved out because we couldn't stand being eaten anymore.

Every morning the traps were clear, so we just couldn't figure out what was wrong!  I thought we had finally figured it out when Peter texted me at work one morning to say he caught a bug!!!!

A Tru-bug!!!!

Silly bug!!!

We were warned that this stuff is really sticky, so we were prepared!  Peter oiled him up, and it came right off (a few whiskers were caught in the line of fire).  Next up, a bath!

Pre-bath, all oiled up!

And guess who was to blame all along for those terrible, horrible, no good, very bad "bites"????

AND

Luckily, it doesn't affect them...they're just the furry carriers!

The Aftermath of the Bath

So both the pups absolutely hate bath time.  They know it's coming, and they head for the hills when it's their turn!  This morning, we washed them outside with the hose inside of a drink bucket.  Might as well take advantage of this 100 degree heat when we can! ;)  Here's a quick before shot:

Cute, but dirty!

Harry went first.  As soon as I let him back inside, he jumped in his chair and pouted.  Life is rough.
Next up was Truman, who immediately tried to escape the second he hit the water.  Don't worry, we were prepared!  He's a different story when he comes back inside.  He runs around like a crazy man with a toy, and then he writhes around on the rug over and over again!!!  So cute!

Play with me!

But wait until I get this water out of my ear!

And let me scratch my back a little too!

Harry says, "What's the deal, Tru?!?  Bath time is not fun at all!!!"

Now I need to go clean the living room, thanks to this guy!

P.S.  They got baths because they have very important visitors arriving tomorrow, and they wanted to look/smell their best! =)
